I was fortunate to be a finalist in the 2019 New Zealand Painting and Printmaking awards. This years works were lovely and I was proud to be a part of the exhibition.
The work I submitted was a diptych titled “Confluence” that I finished late last year.
Using intuitive mark making, I have allowed a year of physical wanderings to influence my memory and sense of place. Wanting to evoke yūgen with a dreamlike composition of both metaphorical and spatial intersections.
