Confusion, space & a lack of time
[Series of 7 paintings, acrylic on prepared paper]
There is enough awe and confusion, beginnings and endings within the immediate world around us to fill the universe a thousand times over. The imaginary or hallucinatory creations we form in our minds are distorted mirrors of reality. It is this distortion of the natural order of things and their accustomed placement that I play with in this body of work.
It is unclear if these paintings are depictions of past events or if they are doorways into possible futures. These works sit on the brink of disaster, an edge, a limit from which either destruction or rebirth can unfold.
