From Fire
[Acrylic on gessoed Fabriano]
A photograph is only a fraction of a scene. In my art practice I collect these moments and reuse them, often extending the images past the boarders of the photo frame. When constructing a painting I like to envision myself building a new world, releasing the restraints that give our reality its physical laws and sequential timelines. My nonsensical arrangements stem from a desire to be the constructor, the re-visualizer of worlds and universes.
From Fire is built on the notion of heat being a main contributor to both construction and destruction.
